True Beauty Shines Through in Every Woman

The lovely Jackie from Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance got in touch with me not too long ago. She is a research assistant and is in charge of engaging and sharing with others, which is what she will be doing today. The word "Cancer" does scare me, with members of both sides of my family, majority of which women, having suffered from it in one way or another. Cancer affects so many people, young and old but no matter who you are or where you are from, you shouldn't let it affect your outlook and hold you back from living your life. YOU are strong and beautiful and YOU can handle anything! YOU can beat anything. We, as "beauty" bloggers (or more precisely beauty lovers), know that if you feel good on the outside, it can make you feel great on the inside and vise versa. I think we can all take a little something from the following article, regardless of what you have going on in your life right now...

True Beauty Shines Through in Every Woman

By: Jackie Clark

The world had its eyes on beautiful Kate Middleton in 2011, watching her magical wedding and subsequent public appearances with strong interest, noting her clothing choices, her makeup, her hair, and the way she carried herself. But all women have their own beauty, whether or not they marry into a Royal family, or whether or not they are healthy or fighting serious illnesses, such as cancer.

There are three known types of mesothelioma, with 2,000 to 3,000 new cases diagnosed in the United States each year. Often, asbestos exposure is linked to mesothelioma, but scientists and doctors are still learning about this complex disease. As with most types of cancer, the earlier the disease is detected, the more treatment options and better prognosis patients will have.

However, despite a diagnosis of mesothelioma or another type of cancer, women can and should maintain a sense of beauty, glamour, and elegance. It is every woman's right to feel beautiful, because each woman has her own kind of beauty, as true beauty starts on the inside, from the heart.

Inner Beauty

True beauty begins with a feeling of being beautiful. Women today are busy and loaded with many responsibilities, but it is important to take time to feed the inner sense of beauty and build a strong inner sense of glamour. Effective methods for doing this vary between each woman, but it is important to engage in activities that produce positive feelings. Meditation and positive visualizations have been proven to be effective in producing physical calming effects and quieter, more ordered thinking.

With a healthy inner viewpoint, women fighting cancer are preparing themselves not only to work toward health and maintain a healthy lifestyle but are also feeding their inner sense of beauty.

Personal Style

There is as many styles as there are women, and it is important during the course of cancer treatment to maintain a personal style. Whether romantic, business-like, Gothic, casual, or New Age, women fighting cancer should continue to dress in clothes that make them feel personally beautiful, regardless of the latest trends.

Feminine Touches

Flowing skirts, silky blouses, high heels, glamorous boots--all of these help women feel feminine and elegant. And don't forget details such as fragrance. A hint of fragrance drifting after a woman creates a feminine aura that cannot be ignored.

A Word About Makeup

Makeup is not necessary for a woman to be beautiful, despite messages from the cosmetics industry. When ill, a woman may not feel like putting on a full face of makeup, so concentrate instead on caring for skin, keeping it clean and moisturized. That is a much more attractive look than heavy makeup and powder. Opt instead for quick touches to brighten the face, such as eyeliner, mascara, and a swipe of lipstick or lip gloss.

Most important, however, is allowing the inner beauty present in each woman to shine through, in glowing eyes, in a hopeful outlook, in caring for themselves and others. If women nourish their inner beauty, physical beauty cannot help but follow.
